Dennis has spent over 50 years ranching and decades in the oilfield. Sharlet has worked in telecommunications, energy, and business operations. We understand what it means to work hard, raise a family, and build something that lasts.

Sharlet’s background in accounting, bookkeeping, and business operations brings a critical eye to government spending, while Dennis’s experience as a legislator reinforces the importance of fiscal discipline.
They believe government should live within its means—just like North Dakota families. They will work to lower the tax burden, eliminate wasteful spending, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and transparently, with a focus on essential services and long-term financial stability.
Support Agriculture & Energy
Dennis Nehring brings over 50 years of ranching experience and decades of work in the oil field—including drilling, pipeline construction, and fracking—giving him firsthand knowledge of the industries that power North Dakota. Sharlet Mohr’s experience working with major energy companies and in business operations further strengthens their understanding of how policy impacts both employers and workers.
Together, they will fight against burdensome regulations, protect private property rights, and ensure agriculture and energy producers have the freedom to operate, innovate, and pass their livelihoods on to the next generation.

Having lived and worked in rural North Dakota for decades, Sharlet and Dennis understand the challenges facing small towns—from workforce shortages to infrastructure needs.
They will advocate for policies that strengthen local economies, support rural schools, improve infrastructure, and ensure access to essential services. Their goal is to keep rural communities strong so families can continue to live, work, and thrive in District 23 for generations to come.
As parents and grandparents, Sharlet and Dennis are deeply committed to protecting the values that make North Dakota strong. With a combined family of ten children and numerous grandchildren, they understand the importance of safe communities, strong families, and local control.
They will stand for pro-family policies, defend parental rights, and ensure that decisions about education and upbringing remain in the hands of families—not government. Their votes in Bismarck will always reflect the values of the people they serve.
